Hi guys, I'm Max from Italy. Almost a noob, I do tons of puzzles but I'm afraid of playing with others.
I play sometimes against the computer (sometimes winning) but with a real opponent I'm afraid to be considered too weak.
Any tip or advice?Thank you!
Answer yourself this question: what's the worst that could happen if you're considered as a weak player? In fact, the only fair assessment of your chess strength is rating, and online rating means nothing. It's free.

Get over this fear, and remember that there are always players weaker than you. One does not experience growth by hiding in one's comfort zone.

24 win. 2 lose
Another thing! Now it's correct! Learn to think in problems, you will be able to think in games. It won't be scary.

Who said, he needs to grow in chess? Maybe he's just afraid that his illusions will be shattered. In any case this looks like a psychoogical thing, and it won't be cured with slogans.

It's up to him. Perhaps, he can solve his problem by himself. But first he needs to recognize his problem.

Indeed. Motivational and heartwarming, no? As someone wise once told me, 'sometimes you need a slap on the face to get out of dreamland'.
