Arena dedicated accounts.

It's common ground (I suppose) that plenty of users use second, lower-rated accounts to take part in various tournaments without having to worry about ruining their ratings on their main accounts. For example, an account with a peak blitz rating of around 1850 whose top 5 wins are all against opponents rated 2400+. Of course, this can't be normal. It's ridiculous, as well as lame.

As far as I know, Lichess prohibits second accounts of any kind, or at the very least discourages users from having them.

Personally, I'm tired of having to play against people like that. And yes, I may be tilted right now, but the facts remain nonetheless!

I find it highly unlikely that someone would keep a dedicated sandbagging account going for 29 thousand games. But if you really think it's the case, you're welcome to use the report button in their profile, it's in the "More" menu.

Creating multiple accounts is not entirely disallowed (see https://lichess.org/terms-of-service for some examples of possibly valid reasons to have them) but sandbagging is against the terms of service regardless of how many accounts the user has.

Just to explain why your topic is soon closed:

No naming and shaming!

Also that player has literally the same rating as you, has balanced win rate and made barely any points in the arena shown.

So I’m not getting your point. What are “people like that“?

If you play 30,000 games, you will beat some 2400+ rated players.

Without ever crossing 1900? You find this normal? 2400 is master level opponents, crossing 1900 should be a piece of cake for such a player.

500 point difference does not mean never wins. I meand expected score is about 0.05 points i.e over for example 10 draws or 5 wins or some combination of both.@arkouda_kafe said ^

no, not that. I can beat players with 2500 elo in bullet. That is because players make mistakes quite often in bullet . But in rapid or classical, it's hard to win players only 50-100 elo more than yours.

@Rookitiki my point is that it's not normal having wins against multiple master level opponents without ever crossing 1900. I get that within tens of thousands of games someone can get a few wins against much higher rated players but with a much higher personal best rating than that. Something isn't right and this account is only an example, maybe I'm just weird about it but I take notice of similar cases many times. Anyway, I had no intention of exposing a certain player, I only uploaded screenshots in order to back up my point. Maybe I'm a bit too much in my head.

@lizani are there any arguments to be made or just passive agreesive generalities?

@PurpleInferno so by the terms of service a tournament only account is allowed to anyone if I'm not mistaken? If that's the case I apologize for not being informed in the first place.
