Do you actually feel joy while playing chess?
Are you actually enjoying it?
Or are you just chasing the ratings?
I can't enjoy it at all because I can only lose in a row.
Chess always makes me uncomfortable.
It no longer has any value to me.

Hobbies are supposed to be relaxing, enjoyable recreation. If you experience negative emotions during and after playing, don't play. Thats why I quit golf. It was no fun and expensive too.

Then stop playing and complaining

Hey, I can't send messages to you, I can't challenge you, I can't follow you so as to know when you are online. You Defeated me in one game and giving me a second chance would speak in your favor, but how to request it? I have to post here in the forum hoping that you read these lines, perhaps your underwater dive prevents you from a better online experience, dare to surf the wave it couldn't be worse.

Personally, chess is similar to how I view exercising due to the perceived difficulty when I do not feel up to doing it. However, once I go through the process of studying/playing chess or exercising, I find that I focus on whatever it is that I need or want to do. Afterward, I feel a sense of accomplishment and would want to do it again. Secondly, I do not only focus on chasing ratings just as I do not only focus on making gains as I work out. The purpose of why I play chess is not only to exercise my mind and strengthen my "never give up" attitude but also to improve; ratings help me to vaguely see how much I have improved through my efforts. Also, the purpose of why I exercise is not only to make gains, whether it is for muscle, cardiovascular, athletic or aesthetic but I generally work out in order to keep my body and mind healthy. In conclusion, I am happy playing chess but also chase ratings as a vague measurement of improvement.
TL;DR Chess makes me happy and I chase ratings as well because when it increases, it gives a vague idea of how much I have improved.
