@Marlonc Have you ever heard of ‘satire’? But as the Mod says, this should be in ‘off topic’.

Ah yes, debate club! Guys who seem to feel only Latin suits em and who manage to cough back up most everything they digested in some Critical Thinking seminar.
More libertarian than Communist.
On communism, you have to work for the state, Libertatians make everything without forcing others to pay.
Long Live the Patzer's Lichess,Comrade.

communism isn't a dictatorship.
Russia (Stalin), China, North Korea, Cuba are laughing.
The day we all own a share of lichess would be the day we could call it communism.
We can all own a share of amazon, apple and so on.
I wasn't talking about Stalin, dictatorship, or Marvin the Martian stuff when I connected the site with communism. I was referring to the access to our chess games. If you compare this with Youtube, your content can be private but your games can't here. That is what I was asking people's opinions on. Of course, if you want to turn this into politics, it will be off topic. Let's keep it on topic guys and talk about the topic in context of chess.

Your studies can.
Communism is not an antonym for privacy, by the way.
There are obviously a few communists on here. LOL. My original comment has 5 ( at the last count) down votes. If I get 10 I guess I’ll be off to the Gulag or walking the plank at the end of a pointy stick in the hands of Kim Il Pong. LOL
There are many examples of "free" providers in Capitalism. Most offer a free service with upgrade to "premium" service. Think Spotify, Youtube and Google. Some are truly independent in that the service is "free" but they rely on subscription good will. This model is common in public radio and television. Then you have "free" services like charity where the pay off is the power and generosity of the membership base or tending towards complete self interest for an institutionalised elite.
I presume the key concern for OP is Does Lichess benefit directly or indirectly from the data generated through the chess games?
I have no real issue if they do provided they are transparent and open to the chess playing population in an informed disclaimer so that people can make their own choices.
Is Lichess a communist website? I would suggest at the moment most definitely not.
did anybody ask what communism was exactly? Soviet? Some party to the left of the right in the USA?
Basic health care? I don't know what communism is, I have some idea of what it may have been, based on the soviet, and China.
But these were using communism as any religion, to keep people doing what a minority wanted it to do. A real minority.
