That's just not going to help. Let me explain my problem again
I will look at an endgame that I misplayed, and try to understand what I should have done. But I can't understand what the engine move does and why other moves don't work. I'm not looking for a bunch of generic endgame principles.
Really?
So, you have triend goin through and doing that to glean a little insight into the position, which you clearly lack, but instead throw it off out of hand and give up.
I'm glad my post will help someone out there, perhaps. You, apparently, are to lazy to even try or care.
What is it you were looking for? Mommy to hold your hand? Someone to lead you to the promised land? Face it - you are too lazy to do any work, which is fine. just dont waste our time here pretending you are looking for a solution. You are not. You are trying to justify your complete lack of effort at the endgame. Good to know. Thanks.

I spent about an hour going over one position and trying to understand the engine moves. I couldn't understand them, and that's why I made this post. I think that qualifies as effort. And since I looked at the position for so long, I know that what you said isn't going to be useful.
And it's funny to talk about being too lazy to do any work when you literally just gave me some BS ai generated answer.
I've reported you for abuse.

Perhaps, it would be easier to provide you with something helpful if you would identify a specific game and move where you did ...

The engine gives ...f6+ Kd5 a5, and continues doing stuff with the black a-pawns that I don't understand. Because it just seems like it doesn't matter because white will just go take them anyway.

As far as I can tell. it really DOESN'T matter whether you would have played 55...f6+ or something else. The main thing seems to be that you should NOT have played 53...Kd8, giving BLang316 the opportunity to win by going for something like 54 Rxa7 Bxg4 55 Rxf7 Bf5 56 Kd6 Ke8 57 Re7+ Kf8 58 Ra7 Bc2 59 Ke6 Kg8 60 Kf6 Kh8 61 Rc7 Bd3 62 Rc3 Bf5 63 Rc4.
In words, I think that there was a serious problem for you, allowing your king to be trapped, away from your pawns and leaving their defense entirely up to your bishop.
In the 53...f6+ 54 Kd5 a5 55 g5 a3 56 Rc3 Be6+ 57 Ke4 a2 58 Ra3 fxg5 59 fxg5 line, do you see an improvement for White that would have allowed BLang316 to do better than a draw?

What are you, 5 years old?
I guess you read right over my " (AI Assisted, Edited, no apologies)." because you were in such a hurry to 'smack me around' with your abuse threats. Childish.
Explain to us what you "discovered" in that hour of 'hard' analysis with the engine. Show us your analysis so other can help - you clearly don' t want the one person who suggested some help to help you - me.
Clearly you didn't do anything of the sort and looking at engine moves is not first on the list and one of the last things you should be doing when trying to figure out an endgame. I think you are addicted to engine use. Just a guess. Don't 'abuse' it.
it's ok to be lazy in chess. You are not the first, nor the last, and have lots of company. I'm sure there will be others. Give it a day.
It's ok, really. I forgive you.

I think that it was sufficient to show us the game and what the machine said.

Super deep analysis. I'd love to know what he "doing stuff" entails. Perhaps order a latte? or a scone? Maybe some flirtatious behavior with the next table? Who knows, but it's "stuff" we guarantee you!

As far as I know, the world is not obliged to provide you with what you would love. I would think that the business at hand is to examine what the machine said. As I understand it, "doing stuff" was a reference to the machine output.

I played out the position against the engine a few dozen times and tried to understand what I did wrong.
Sorry if that's not good enough for you.
And if you know so much, how about you explain how to draw that position for black? Perhaps using those handy "rules" you had the AI generate for you? I'm sure that'll be a big help.
