How do I become 2000 quickly?

Also, playing bullet a lot really improves your overall play. After a couple hundred bullet games, you will definitely see a +50 jump in your rapid at least

(@)The_Dragon_Of_Harmia:

  • Play 15+10 and use all of your time. In some of your games, you end with too much time left. When there is increment, going under five seconds is not a problem.

  • After a game, determine if it is worth analyzing or not by asking yourself questions like these: 'Did I win with an opening trap?' 'Did my opponent dominate for the whole game, but blundered checkmate-in-one?' 'Did I win a back-and-forth game?' 'Was I destroyed throughout the whole game?'

If the game is worth analyzing, then do so; first by yourself, then with an engine.

  • Instead of switching between openings, stick to the same ones---one as White, and one against 1. e4, 1. c4, 1. d4, and so on---to gain experience with them.

First, in my opinion is forget playing rapid and start playing classical so that you can calculate variations

You need pieces to take your pieces to the opponent's side of the board or else you lose

Study the games of 2000
Grandmaster games are a bit on the peak level and complicated
For now study who you want to become

Have a smaller goal
First aim for 100 more points ; then higher

Step books are useful but spend time before turning to the next one
Why ?
Because your brain cannot play and think like a 2000 elo in such little time

Analyze your lose
DO NOT TURN ON THE ENGINE
First think of the best move
Not just for yourself
Be selfless and calculate your opponent's moves and find the best move with all of that in your brain , then turn the engine on and ask people in your forum

Play fewer games to not lose focus
Study, focus and master in one area then the next

Make a routine :-
Play Games on Sunday for fun without analyzing
SATURDAY take a break
Wednesday I will study chess
Thursday I will make a lichess study and see other lichess studies
Friday I will play with a bot
Monday , Tuesday I will play games and analyze

FOR A BETTER ROUTINE ASK GOOGLE FOR THE ROUTINE OF FAMOUS GRANDMASTER LIKE MAGNUS CARLSEN

Don't buy too many chess books
Practise perfecting your visualization skills to imagine the chessboard and play the moves

GO TO MANY TOURNAMENTS !!!
This is so helpful
Go with a notebook and a pen and write your games
Don't worry ! They will allow this
After all I always do this

Ask these questions :-

During the game

  1. Why did my opponent play that ?

What is his plan ??
Does he have a tactic in mind ??
Did he blunder by mistake or sacrifice??
What are his weaknesses??
Does he threaten something or create a discovered attack ??

2)What is my best move ?

"If you find a good move , find a better one"- Emmanuel Lasker
Is there a better move ??
Have I calculated the moves properly ??
Is he forced to play that ??
Is there any checks, captres or threats ??

  1. Can I win ?

In a losing position, we mentally quit but does a 2000rated player do the same
No !
We must look for a Counterattack
Can I win ?
No ..
Can I draw ?
No...
Can I make it complicated so that my opponent will get stressed ??
Yes you can
After all we all are humans

  1. Is there a tactic ?

Is there a hidden tactic ??
But can he backfire it or save himself ??
Do I really need to play a strategic /random move ??

After the game

  1. What did I miss ?

Did I miss a tactic ??
Did I miss a strategical concept ??
Did I miss a quiet move ??

  1. Did I stay calm ?

Have I stayed calm while playing ??
Did I play too fast ??

  1. What made me lose ?

Did I focus only on my plans ??
In chess , you shouldn't

I wrote a blog about how to reach 2000 in 1 year.

I don't understand why people are so intent on giving beginners wildly unrealistic expectations in this game.

I don't know about you, but if I wanted to become 2000 quickly, I would probably need to bang my head into the wall about a hundred times, sniff some gasoline, and drink Lysol...assuming I didn't kill myself first :)

Start with having talent. Then play lots of chess.

"talent"

  • 'Having spent 200 hours on the above, the young player, even if he possesses no special talent for chess, is likely to be among those two or three thousand chess players who play on a par with a master.' - Lasker
Talent is not required, only time and effort, doing what helps, and not doing what does not help.
'Talent? I have only one talent, a talent for hard work' - Kasparov
