Hello, yesterday I was playing someone who I beat the first game so he wanted a rematch. I thought no big deal, accepted the rematch and he was very strong. I mentioned this and he said he got his friend to play on his account because "I was too strong for him". I reported this as cheating, but nothing has been done. Is this even considered cheating? I figured it would be.

Look at this:
- Cheat. We prohibit the use of any external assistance used whilst a game you are involved in is ongoing, which has the effect of improving your knowledge, calculation ability, or otherwise gives you an unfair advantage over your opponent. Examples of cheating include, but are not limited to, using a chess engine, opening books, endgame tablebases, receiving move recommendations from another person or software...
So yes, this is a cheating. But you had to support your accusations with proof. Just your words aren't enough.

this is not cheating but is a fair play violation which is a violation of terms of service: https://lichess.org/terms-of-service:
Account sharing - The sharing of accounts is generally not permitted. Users may share an account for activities like "hand and brain", for streaming or educational purposes, but this must be clear in the account profile description, with names and ratings where relevant, and to opponents (e.g., by accepting viewer challenges, or playing pre-arranged matches, rather than from general lobby seeks)

He blatantly admitted this, or his friend did in the lichess chat.... So is that not proof enough when he admits to this?

It's maybe cheating, but I would rather call it his opinion
But yes, you are right because he was letting his friends play on his account because his friends are stronger; then I would consider it cheating, but not that much cheating
By the way, if he said that, then maybe he would be joking
And a very important one. If he had shared his Lichess ID password, then it's a type of not cheating but a type of violation of some Lichess policies, I think, and if he is only letting his friends play because they are strong but not telling the password, that's another thing which will probably come under cheating

By the way, if he told you in any chat, Lichess can see any chats, including private chats, but they don't expose private chats; they can see what we are typing, and it is possible his account has been hacked and the hacker changed his password, or if his account is not hacked, then maybe he would be joking in the chats, so it's very difficult to find out. Can you give me your opponent's ID? I will also report him for cheating, which could lead to a ban or other restrictions. By giving his ID, we can also check a little on his profile
And most importantly, I think we should not give his ID for privacy because it's his account and his choice and maybe Lichess would not allow that.

IDK we don't have proof becoz he could be joking .But the change in his playing strengths indicates he is not lying so.. This should be cheating
