opening pins

So, you guys know the SUPER ANNOYING Bg4 move that happens in the 4 knights opening, which literally PARALYZES the knight on f3? Then theres Nd4 and your knight is cooked since after trade your kingside is just open. Can someone give me some advice on how to prevent this pin in the 4 Knights opening (Yes I know h3 is a move but it kinda wastes tempo) Is there any other way to defend? yes bd2 is there ik but my bishop wants to be active not inside my pawn structure... plz help me

if you mean 7...Bg4, Stockfish suggests 8.Qd2, which I have no idea why. If you really want to get out of the pin, 8.h3

Well, I suppose that the first thing is that, after 1 e4 e5 2 Nf3 Nc6 3 Nc3 Nf6, the usual suggestions are 4 Bb5 or 4 d4. If White DOES play 4 Bc4, the usual suggested reaction is 4...Nxe4.

6...h6 is the way to play:

[Site "https://lichess.org/game/xRTBPBN5"] [White "Paveliev, Alexey"] [Black "Okara, Andrey"] [WhiteElo "2392"] [BlackElo "2407"] [Variant "Standard"] 1 e4 e5 2 Nf3 Nc6 3 Bc4 Nf6 4 d3 Bc5 5 Nc3 a6 6 Bg5 h6 ...

When I tried it, after 1 e4 e5 2 Nf3 Nc6 3 Nc3 Nf6 4 Bc4 Bc5 5 d3 O-O 6 Bg5, the machine seemed to think that 6...Be7 would have been perhaps slightly better than 6...h6 (and perhaps a not entirely unreasonable third choice would be 6...Bb4). 6...d6 seems to be a definite mistake.
