What are your chess goals right now?

Understand it more day by day and little by little without letting myself be overwhelmed by the vastness and complexity of this beautiful art and science.

Everyone has different goals in chess, and those goals shape how we prioritize our time and effort.

I would like to get above 1500 is both chess.com and lichess, I am not a strong player, I just want to improve

I’m curious to hear what everyone is working toward right now.

2200 Bullet, 2000 Rapid and Blitz! I just hit one of my goals: 1800 Ultrabullet!

My immediate goal is to start winning some games again at the local chess club. I lost three ladder games (on three different Fridays) in a row. My longer term goal is to reach 1400 USCF (my rating has dropped a lot from 1327, my highest rating, so far, in the USCF).

I know I need to play more games and study a lot of different chess subjects--I also need to study openings again. I don't like to study openings, but I need to make myself do it if I want to improve my game.

Really enjoying reading everyone's goals! It's interesting how some are chasing specific ratings, while others are focused on learning, having fun, or just sticking with chess.

One thing that genuinely surprised me was how many people mentioned Chess.com rating goals here on Lichess. As someone who fully switched over, I wasn't expecting that!

I love chess and computer science, so I'm trying to combine the two by making Lichess bots, and my goal is to create a chess engine in Rust that plays like Mikhail Tal.

I play lichess for quick dopamine nowadays. Being an indie dev, I am working on a roguelike chess game with only the best mechanisms and parts of a chess game.
