App stores only allow one app per service, the old app was maintained by a volunteer whereas the new one is built first-party by lichess. Therefore it doesn't make sense nor is it possible with vendor's rules to maintain two separate apps

Thanks for the clarification- but i would also be crazy scared if this happened to me because getting logged in as a wrong user is a real issue with a programm i have to use at work.

Also since the new app has now gotten the clock feature i will finaly part with the old app. Is it best to uninstall the old one for security or can i keep it for the Icon/memorys and just not use it?

RIP old app...Btw, since we're all here... Is there any way to get the new app to display the clock on the left hand side of the board in landscape like the old app? Asking for a friend...

Probably because maintaining two apps is a waste of resources that could be used to improve the new app.
