this was the whole point of the book. the idea of a totalitarian state so absolute that it doens't have ennemies. literally the whole book is about just that. How the state eventually have to and will conquer your inner thoughts for its benefits.

And when I see how easily this happens today, I kind of wish more people would have understand that :p Would have helped against Benjamin and Donald. "children are terrorists" is not far from "2+2=5".
