A fully implemented CO2 global tax could reduce human emissions to ZERO.

tpr of couse it would work. You increase the tax over 30-40 years. You can get infinite energy from the sun, negative-CO2 cement and Carbon Neutral cattle, if you capture the methane or change the food, to generate less. You can even capture the remaining carbon with machines, that will cost around 20 dollars per ton in the future. All you have to do is slow emissions, by taxing equally all countries, on CO2, until the tax is high enough that they will shift to Carbon removal technologies, or any other source.

You're all suicidal, like @GlafiraSliznyakova
Suicidal? NO! Strong?? YEEEES. I worked really hard to forge a lethal weapon out of my 6'1 152 lbs girl body, training relentlessly in Karate and Taekwondo, running almost every single day (did a marathon last year) and lifting weights 3 times a week. I LONG for an apocalyptic calamity to put my physical prowess and mental fortitude to the test, because I KNOW I can handle it. Maybe you can't, but I CAN. This is the warrior's way!!

"You increase the tax over 30-40 years." * Who would impose the tax on whom? There is no Dictator of the World who can impose a tax on the USA, Russia, China, India, Europe, Middle East. The Dictator of the World could just interdict to pump any oil or gas or mine any coal.

"You can get infinite energy from the sun" * It is finite, about 100 Watt per m2. There is a limit on how many photovoltaic panels and wind turbines you can install.
We can heat houses with heat pumps, use electric cars, electric trains, electric ships, electric planes and use data centers for artificial intelligence. That all drives up the demand for electricity. Wind and solar doo not suffice. Nuclear is viable, but controversial.

"negative-CO2 cement" * Dream on. The mined mineral is calcium carbonate. It is reduced with coal to yield calcium oxide and carbon dioxide. Same with steel. The ore mined is iron oxide. It is reduced with coal to yield iron and carbon dioxide. Maybe we will all live in bamboo huts.

"Carbon Neutral cattle" * Does not exist. But the Dictator of the World could force us all to become vegetarians.

"You can even capture the remaining carbon with machines" * That already exists: it is called a tree. It captures carbon dioxide and water and turns it into wood and oxygen.

Don't worry, we'll get rid of CO2 emissions when we have burned all coal and oil up...

Then it will be just a few hundred years at most before mankind stop pollution the planet...

(Why is it mankind and not manevil?)

Smart people will impose. Dictators like China or Russia are polluting the most. U.S. is a nightmare too.

Yeah, this is very limited. You didn't mention that the sun has only 1 billion years too... Sun and Wind are technologies, and they're already cheaper than conventional energy. That's why big polluters like China, that don't care about anything, are installing Solar panels.

Renew your reseach about Solar Energy, and maybe you'll find out you'll have to install one at your house.

That's it.

I don't know how long it would take to burn up all of the coal and oil, but I agree that the supply is finite. Once we reach that point, then the answer would probably be nuclear fission (unless we make nuclear fusion feasible in the future). The problem with nuclear fission is the waste disposal is a bit of a sticky wicket. Like another poster mentioned, maybe the answer would be to live in caves and huts and hunt with spears. :-O

No, suicidal. Cause you're cheering for a nuclear war.

Karate and Taekondo will do nothing. You'll need guns to protect yourself, and knives. Anyone with a medium-sized knife will destroy your taekwondo + karaoke in a matter of seconds, after a full-nuclear war. You'll die, for sure, with that mentality.

You're not strong, you're weak, as long as you don't have a bunker, with at least 3 months of canned food, you'll likely not survive. Not even I will.

“I’d like to teach the world to sing, in perfect harmony.....” Wouldn’t that be nice? Is that attainable or am I just dreaming and hoping against hope?

Nope. A little bit self-destructive in a Yukio Mishima kinda way? Maybe! (just a tiny bit tho, no seppuku for me please) Suicidal? Hard no!!

Ok, I'll just make sure to get an above average-sized knife myself then

No I won't

Why "even"? Are you like a prepper or something?
