Another interesting Eric Weinstein interview

I think I've posted a few interviews of Eric Weinstein in the past. Based on the paucity of previous comments, my fear is that I may be the only person here who finds Eric's interviews fascinating. At any rate, here's a recent one that I liked even more than usual. The conversation meanders around and hits a number of topics including AI, physics and math, UFOs, world politics, and wars.

I'm not a huge fan of the interviewer's channel; The previews at the beginning are a little "clickbaity", but if he's interviewing Eric, I'll watch it.

I can testify first hand that the topic is 100% false.

You mean the "Aliens are fighting above us" title? Yeah, like I said, it's clickbait that should be ignored. But if you just focus on the interview, I think you'll get a lot out of it.

In hindsight, I should have pre-set the video to start at 2:15 (that is, 135 seconds) so that the viewer wouldn't be exposed to the clickbait previews and the interviewer's begging for subscriptions.

i didn’t know that could be done. is it as easy as stopping the video at a certain point and then copying the link?

No, you have to tweak the URL. In my case, I'd add a "&t=135" (without the quotes) to the end of the URL. I think you might be able to also do it for minutes, but I always just calculate the seconds and use that number. I'm not sure if hours can be used.

Here's the video again, delayed by 135 seconds:

EDIT - Dang, I reached my daily video posting limit, and Lichess won't let me post another video for now. Eh, just delete all of the underlines from the above link, and you'll have it.

Eh, your idea might also work after all. Here's an article that might help. I didn't try it, so you're on your own.

Yeah, like I said, it's clickbait

Really? For me that is just a warning to avoid clicking on it.

But oh well.

Well, clickbait to a very good interview, at least in my opinion. That's OK, though. I don't expect everyone to be willing to invest two hours in something they're not sure of. :-)

At one point in the interview, Eric mentions that you might want to look up the David Grusch interview on the Joe Rogan podcast. So I did. There are two of them; I just watched the most recent one of three weeks ago (#2560). Holy crap, it's wild sh**. If there's ANY truth to what David is hinting at, things could get wild before the next US presidential election.
