So I was reading "Philosophy for Beginners" made by Usborne (Great book by the way) and saw some thought-provoking questions!
Let's answer these questions "for fun", cause why not?
How do I know that this world isn't all a dream?
Does God exist, and is it possible to prove it?
Is it possible to do absolutely nothing?
What if I wasn't walking around in a body, but was really just a brain in a jar that thinks it has a body?
What if a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?
P.S: All these questions are like the questions people ask in the shower, so yeah T~T

Idk I think it's mostly a matter of faith, since there's no definite way to prove or disprove God's existence. People just have different beliefs and reasons for them imo ;p

There’s a part of your brain that distinguishes the two, but really, you can’t.
Does God exist, and is it possible to prove it?
Whether or not He exists is a matter of faith, but I think it is not possible to prove it.
Is it possible to do absolutely nothing?
No. Because participating in reality is an action.
*What if I wasn't walking around in a body, but was really just a brain in a jar that thinks it has a body?
Possible, but highly improbable. Your brain wouldn’t hallucinate about a very detailed life for no reason.
What if a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?
Yes. Sound is independent of hearing.

How do I know that this world isn't all a dream?
We don't know.
Does God exist, and is it possible to prove it?
God may exist, but there is no way to know for sure.
Is it possible to do absolutely nothing?
No
*What if I wasn't walking around in a body, but was really just a brain in ...
This is basically the same as the first question. The answer is the same. There is no way of knowing. I don't think we can even make statements on whether or not this scenerio is "more likely" or not.
What if a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?
This depends entirely on how you define "sound." What we typically think of as sound is the subjective feeling of sound, created by the brain in response to a wave.

yes it does make a sound
if i use wyvern’s ‘trademark’ and no one’s around to hear wyvern’s reaction, was there a sound? :p
if someone posts but no one reads it, was there a post?

(@)TitusPlaysChess123: 'How do I know that this world isn't all a dream?' ~ You cannot know that. A dream is not necessarily less valuable than a, 'real life,' however.
'Does God exist, and is it possible to prove it?' ~ Firstly, there is no evidence that God exists. So, no. Secondly, it is not possible to prove nor disprove God's existence; that is one of the main tricks that religions use to brainwash people with.
'Is it possible to do absolutely nothing?' ~ If you are asleep, then I guess you are not doing anything. Yes, you are breathing, aging, sleeping, and moving slightly sometimes, but those things are not by your own choice/instinct.
'What if I wasn't walking around in a body, but was really just a brain in a jar that thinks it has a body?' ~ I do not know what to respond with.
'What if a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?' ~ Yes. Trees are majestic, independent creatures that do not fucking need humans' company to make noise.

I think you guys are misunderstanding the tree question. The real answer is that a tree can only make what we know as "sound" through humans. Without a human, it's just vibrations.
