I'm not really a jazz person, so I'm largely ignorant in this area. However, when I was younger, I stumbled upon several albums that made an impression on me. At the time, I fell in love with Al Jarreau's "Look to the Rainbow" album. It's hard to pick one song from the album. (Interestingly, Al includes his interpretation of Take Five.)
I also liked George Benson's "Breezin'" album. I also find it interesting that both albums include a song written by Leon Russell.
Finally, I also liked Donald Fagan's "The Nightfly" album. Although it's really a rock/pop album, I think it has some jazz undertones.
One of my favourites, Miles Davis Yellow from the album Aura.
