That is an interesting point, I will have a look into this to see how other countries write notation and see what can be done.

I love the website and it has actually helped me a lot one thing though i think that would help out at least for a simpleton like myself is when a piece takes another piece and show on the bottom which pieces are taken, or something like that because I'll notate a piece and not notice that it took another piece and when i go to notate I'll make a mistake. I mean not its not the end of the world but just a thought.

Oh that is interesting, and yes, you can miss that a piece was taken, so it would be good to show. I am thinking about interesting ways to handle this.

Cool tool. Nice job. I have two suggestions:

  1. It would be nice to have the option of flipping the board in order to practice from Black's perspective. That's where I get bogged down when trying to notate OTB games in real time.
  2. After notating the game, I'd like to be able to go back through the game that I just notated. I was too busy notating to really appreciate it and would like the ability to cycle back through. It's not a big deal as I can always just copy the pgn over to another program.

x2 on the board flip. For #2, perhaps a text block with the PGN down low on the page after completing the test is sufficient... But I agree with both suggestions really, just thinking of ways to make changes simpler if you don't want to code it...

In the Notation Trainer page, the website scrolls downwards right after submitting user's input. This is how it looks like after I typed the first move. I have to constantly scroll the page upwards to see the chess board after every input.

I see what you mean, I will see if I can fix this in the next release. Thanks for raising this, I will have a think about the best way to achieve this.

Perhaps look into creating a custom keyboard for mobile use where the KB has a limited number of keys, thus, not so many rows and no need to scroll. Sort of like the custom numbers pad which sometimes comes up when only numbers are entered.

I also got stung on this, but honestly, I think the real solution is to simply pay attention better. The same thing can happen OTB if we fall asleep when our opponet moves.

GREAT tool! Thanks for creating it. I've been wanting something like this for some time, but was too lazy to code it up. Nice job!
