I personally think that death, since it cannot be stopped must be at least somewhat embraced, per se. Everything will die. Even the universe will go out, and there might not be any more life anymore. Just empty nothingness. It hurts my brain to think about it, and makes me cry, but you kind of have to accept that everything will die, and there is a possibility that nothing will every be created again. Death is a gift, as well as a curse. Death makes you want to enjoy your life and be happy, but everyone fears death. Enjoy every moment of your life, and one book that has helped me is The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch. It really helped me find out that dying naturally is a gift that is bestowed upon a person, and that a person should really enjoy their life to the fullest, and not dwell on a family member dying and instead moving forward and to keep on going to achieve your dreams. Don't dwell on what might happen (like I do) and instead try to focus more on living a good life and making your family proud.

Also, if you are afraid of death, if you maintain a healthy weight, exercise regularly, get over 7 hours of sleep, lower stress levels, eat a diet rich in foods high in vitamin C, polyphenols, and anthocyanins, and eat more fiber, you can slow down the shrinking of telomeres, which basically determines how long you live.

Perhaps see a doctor or a psychologist for your issue.

Learning contentment is huge. Otherwise you’ll just be miserable. Chess ratings is a great example where people are seldom happy with where they are and instead just keep on chasing. A 1400 wishes they were 1500. A 2300 wishes they were 2400. A huge part of happiness is learning how to love yourself and accept your shortcomings and love yourself despite them. You have value. You are important. Even if you don’t see it.

Talk to Someone: Reach out to a friend, family member, or mental health professional. Sometimes just talking about what you’re going through can provide relief and also play chess on lichess or Chess2Play
