Does variant destroy your standard game??

I played variant but later when i started the standard chess i bit mixed up with that variant and forgot the standard chess. It became confusing for me.
Especially after playing crazyhouse
So in past i dropped playing variant but now i able to play good standard chess after playing variant chess.

Does this experience happened with you all also??

i quitted standard after i played anti so now im happy because even chess captcha become impossible for me still struggling but now i started to play horde lets see what happens...

huge respect who can play good in all variants without being crazy!

I remember playing atomics, then unknowingly created a game (anti 1+1). Damn, I just exploded.

I play OTB standard but I play anti which definitely hinders my potential
Except for anti, all variants are beneficial for standard.

Antichess improves calculation somewhat especially if both players capture a consecutive set of pieces in standard. The same cannot be said for atomic.

All variants improve calculation, it's necessary to be decent, but strategy in anti is so far-off standard that its quite useless. Atomic on the other hand, still keeps a portion of standard while adding a little. Anti just completely changes the game.

variants don't destroy our standard games variants improve it example
atomic and horde improve positional play like in horde if we overpush pawns then weakness is created so black can enter white's domain and kill all pawns and in atomic if we overpush pawns to defend attacks the opponent knights can enter
chess 960 improves our middle game sense and positional play because there's no opening in it
antichess improves calculation because capture is forced in it so we need to calculate each and every capture
racing kings improves nothing yea its really bad to play man like you cant even check your opponent so its not good
crazy house improves creativity and calculation coz you need to be creative and calculate a lot to win in that mode coz you gotta do some raw sacs
3 check improves calculation
king of the hill improves endgame sense because you need to take your king out in the endgame in it to win(am talking about high level only)
so variants improve our normal chess but its a very very slow process the best process is playing normal chess only but we can sometimes play variants but variants don't destroy our normal chess also I can tell about variants on lichess but not about chess.com variants

But when i play standard chess i forgot i was playing standard and take me time to think oh yeah i am playing standard but in return its too late oh no i blasted my queen to e2 and then i remember it was atomic.
Don't ask for crazy house XD

And i don't see any improvement in variant helps standard chess
Or maybe i don't know how to use those tactics in standard chess.
The first step for me to to play different style of chess for different variant or standard and that's hard.

I felt your situation for anti chess though.
I ready to give all my thing in standard chess XD

If you play variants and OTB, you have to make sure that you don't scramble the two or things will not go well. If you can take only the creativity and calculation then variants are great but if you take the tactics then you are cooked.
