Great to see such interest in this event. Well done to FischyVishy for taking the initiative to get this started!

I'm pretty easy going, but I'll throw in an idea that blends the other suggestions. How about a balanced mix of time controls gradually demanding faster pace?
3+2 (x5)
2+1 (x5)
1+0 (x5)
0.5+0 (x5)

This encourages a mix of solid play, tenacity and adaptability. Variety for the players and variety for the viewers. Thoughts?

Love it :). I'd rather this than have only one time control because I want to be "consistent."

Can we do away with the 0.5+0, though? Zh played at that speed is really random. Regular chess at that speed is maybe doable, but zh...nah (obviously due to the piece drops wasting lots of secs).

Alternative mix could be:
3+2 (x8)
2+1 (x8)
1+0 (x8)

Otherwise, seems that either 3+2 or 3+0 is popular, perhaps with condition like first to 10 wins by margin of 2.

@LM JannLee This second one is much better, JannLee. Let's see if others agree or prefer 3+2 or some other time control exclusively.

Edit: @IM opperwezen I guess Lichess only allows the editing of new posts, not old ones, so I can't edit #15. However, I did note your approval of 3+2.
