Hi!
I noticed that K-MAPS sometimes doesn't say anything about the position, and the evaluation is off.
For example: (See above). It shows minus for all K-MAPS values (specifically -36 -57 -25 -1 -13) but the position is 0.0 eval and i went on to win.
Additionally, why when there is a basic mate (e.g QKvK) the "principal" line jumps up and down crazily?
Possible solutions:
- Count proteted passed pawns and passers into pawn structure. I don't see that right now.
- Calculate king saftey not by pawn shelter and enemy pieces around the king, but how many enemies can possibly check/reach to the king
- Calculate space by advancement, uncaptureability, and squares controlling in enemy territory. E.g a pawn on d5 is worse in space than an uncapturable knight on d5, but a pawn on d7 supported by a battery can potentially be better in space.
P.S Thanks for this nice extension! Keep the work!
