There is a fundamental difference of philosophy between Lichess and LiChess Tools. Lichess wants to offer a streamlined consistent experience to users. LiChess Tools wants to offer personalized experiences... ALL OF THEM! (Muhahahahaha!) Sorry, I had to say that ever since Schlawg put the link to the extension in the [third party Lichess apps](https://lichess.org/page/extend) page.
Having it as a browser extension allows the best of both worlds: get Lichess plus all the stuff you want enabled from LiChess Tools.

BTW, that's a manually made icon, using rectangles with circular cutoffs and manual placement. That's my level of graphics design. It would be wonderful if someone would help improve that, without changing the basic idea or making it look like AI did it...
