I agree with Link @ChangeOpening the IAF needs you, and the current council alongside your ideas has done an incredible job so far...and this is only in one year!! We can accomplish so more, but we really need you flo. I hope you reconsider.

I really want the players who appear on the site to have the title in the past profile
looks good organization
we can get funds for competitions in an easier time
the vote ending today at 17 utc is important
and I hope you reconsider the vote and understand that this change is for the good of the IAF and is not a fad for Flo

I spoke with @ChangeOpening last night about his decision to resign as President of the IAF. I will not now voice the reasons why Flo wants to do this, and I will not comment on these reasons. If Flo wants, he will tell everyone the reasons and then I can comment on them.
The only thing I say now about the current situation with Flo's resignation. I completely agree with the opinion of @Link, @self101010, @SarangSule that Flo has done a lot for the community and at the moment I do not see anyone who could do it better. Yes, Flo has some personality traits that the leader of a large community of people better not have. First of all, this is impulsiveness, excessive persistence in actions and discussions, and a few more, which I will not talk about, since this is not a topic for discussing Flo's personality and this is my subjective opinion. But show me the perfect leader. Maybe someday a superman will appear, such as Nietzsche's Übermensch or another. Nowadays there are no ideal people. Moreover, at the stage of the formation of the IAF the negative personality traits that I spoke about on the contrary, become necessary for moving the community forward. Therefore, I believe that someone will be a better president sometime, but now Flo is needed by the community as president. This is my personal opinion as a Council member and as a IAF member.
Now regarding the issue of early elections, if Flo insists on them. I write next as the Head of Legal Department.
First of all, remember that the Charter has not yet been approved. There is only a draft charter. All we can say is that there were no significant comments and proposals to the draft charter. Therefore, it is hoped that this version of the charter will be approved. But the Charter itself does not describe the procedure for regular elections and early elections. It should be another document that has not been developed yet.
Therefore, in the current situation, most decisions should be made by the Council by a simple majority votes.
The Legal Department believes that the procedure should be as follows.
- The Council discuses the situation and, if necessary, makes a decision on early elections. This discussion takes place in a private mode. Ordinary IAF members will only know its result.
- The Council develops and approves the procedure for holding early elections and announces early elections.
- Those who wish to nominate their candidatures should publish their election programs. These are not necessarily multi-page texts. A few sentences are enough. But the community must understand what a candidate is going to do in an elected position. The words “I want to be the president” or “I want to be the member of the Council responsible for organizing drinking and sexual orgies” is not enough.
- The General Assembly is convened.
- The General Assembly approves the Charter and votes in early elections.

I think we can debate the merits of your proposal and have a vote later (that's why there is a council).
Simply getting a statement that I need to vote for without discussing the pro's and cons might be why the vote is now 5-6.
But making it a vote of confidence is a bit harsh.

Thank you very much again for your detailed explanations. You put very much effort in your volunteerly task for the community - similarly to Flo!
3 questions I still have:
-
If @ChangeOpening will not reconsider his resignment of presidency, who will be interim-president now? (Hopefully Flo can be encouraged by us to continue the great job he did until now)
-
The elected council still is in charge or dismissed?
-
What date is considered for the General Assembly?

Now there are not answers on your questions. Some of them or all of them can be found in private Council discussion (stage 1 from #34).

Yes, @ChangeOpening , I do not understand why you must resign, even if the majority of the council does not agree on one vote (this vote). You have done an amazing job and I hate to consider how the IAF may fall apart or lose some of its persistency in the subject of expanding antichess when you step down. Remember, you even still lead a lot of the teams associated with the IAF, you are usually the one to send the team messages that alert everyone of the events coming up. As you can see from the above posts, we, the council, do not want you to resign. We feel that you do a wonderful job, and not a single post here has said "Please go away, Flo!" or even hinted that they would like you to resign. I sincerely hope you will reconsider your decision.

Thank you all for the words expressed to me. Because there were many posts on the forum and I received a few pm messages of encouragement, I announce that I will not resign.
The council obviously remains in the same formula.
This topic will be closed here because it is no longer valid. For 2 years the council and I will remain in place regardless of future votes on future member initiatives.
