Fantastic! Gonna try it out tonight!!

That's indeed refreshing and impressive, I would say the future of chess. Especially these hand a brain games allow you to play with your lower rated friends. I hope the other website don't steal the idea and also that the engines code is well trademarked. I would hate for a corporation to ruin such a greatly executed idea. Admirations!

I use Edge on a computer with dark mode preference. When I go into the dropdown for engine selection, the background is not correct, making the text unreadable:

Very nice site, I actually was winning against a bot for once in my life :)

One more bug: at one point or another I was starting a new game and the coordinates where I was clicking were different from the piece that was grabbed. This happens with Chessground, unfortunately, when the screen resizes programmatically, so you have to monitor the board stays the same position and size all the time.

And BTW, I was winning, but I lost on time. You might want to make the time low warning (if there was any) more visible.

A few weeks ago, I reported the background bug that hides the different options in this site's Discord, but unfortunately, I didn't get a response. Hopefully the site designers will see your comment.

Interesting... given the "moves by rating graph" maybe with similar technology one could predict who wins the FIDE WC Candidates (based upon moves in previous games).

Thanks for the heads up. I think this should be fixed, but please let me know if you run into it again.

We'll have some Candidates analysis!

@ashtonanderson , any chance you will ever provide an API with the evals from Maia? Something like the Lichess cloud API or chessdb?

I just tried fixing this but can't test it, could you please let me know if it's still an issue?

We open source the models! They are very easy to run. Maia-3 isn't out yet (will release with the upcoming paper) but getting the evals is a one-liner with Maia-2: https://github.com/CSSLab/maia2/
