How titled players lie to you

This unfortunate article is great. I think there have been some key improvements to our field that the OP should at least give a nod to:

Computers have made it possible to study the game from all angles, not just the traditional endgame backwards that was the best for so long (so things have indeed changed a bit since the 1990s).
Tactical study is now different, not necessarily better though we can argue that chess tacticians are better today than ever before. Puzzle generators have really come so far in the last 5 years!!! -> Espcially the one here on lichess. Imagine being able to study tactics by theme.
Coaching is a skill and playing is a skill (and writing is a skill). These skills are very different. Titled players can be crap coaches. Mid-Class Amatures can be quite good coaches. If Ted Lasso can do it...

Snake oil is correct sometimes, but things are different too.

Training can be fun in some instances, it just usually is not.
Also, I really enjoy all the chessmood blogs which are trying to sell you something, you can think about what it says and see if it’s chess truth or marketing. Usually it is truth.
