how often do you play cheaters here?

@Rogue_Berserker said ^

The conclusions I got were as follows:

  1. I faced cheaters 1.2% of the time

Completely wrong.
1.2% of the time you met players later banned for cheating. These are players who don't even try to hide that they are cheating.

Yes, I agree. The reason some people manage to cheat for a long time without getting caught is that they sometimes play their own moves, sometimes the best moves, and sometimes the second-best moves. However, ridiculous cheating methods—like opening a new tab on a computer to check an analysis board—result in an immediate ban. It’s best not to cheat at all.

look at it this way. if there are 50% cheaters, your rating is actually higher because you were really playing against stockfish’s moves

I don’t think half of the people are clever enough to avoid getting caught while cheating. :-)

Just happened to play someone who ( on a 15+10 game) spent less than 10 sec a move thus not reducing basic time. Then he spent 15 minutes on a move, while the rest of the game he returned to blitz modus. That may be ok regarding the rules, maybe not even a cheater, how do I know? But that was so annoying, I blocked him.
Blocking is a really easy way to not run into suspected cheaters or unpolite / annoying people two times.

@Rogue_Berserker You'd be surprised how many people think they could hide it and still end up banned. But based on your past messages I don't think you'll acknowledge anyway

you can’t know who’s cheating. but the experience of playing top level stockfish if they are cheating just helps your game analysis (you see what they-or their computer-played to win).

On the other hand, his score against those players is even (mine is even positive). So the percentage of games where the "banned cheaters" cheated must be quite low.

Another possibility is that they cheat here and there, only a couple of moves per game, win some and lose some, thus artificially inflating their rating from, let's say, 1500 to 2200.

You'd be surprised how many blatant cheaters are not banned even though they are blatant cheaters.

And yes, there are some people who think they can hide it too easily. I saw one guy who had around 98% accuracy in all his winning games. He thought he could hide it by losing some games also. He pointed out that he had games with lower accuracy. What he didn't know was that I only looked at his winning games, and those were all around 98%. He wasn't banned.

There are like no cheaters here, just a lot of people cranky about losing or tilted from being beat or at least most of the time that's the case.

I just played against a player who is rated something like 900 in rapid games, and he/she plays like that also. Against me that player started out like 900, blundered early in the game, then sudden...

"how often do you play cheaters here?"

Not nearly as often as people posting about cheating!
