Increment vs. No Increment

"Increments are like crutches for people who refuse to learn how to manage their time properly."

  • No increments are like crutches for people who cannot win on the board and need flagging to win.

I think your sentence is wrong.

After intervention of the grammar police:
Playing without increment is for people who cannot win on the board and need flagging to win.

I do not think it is shameful to flag one's opponent. Then again, perhaps this is because I play largely without increment.

It is not shameful to flag, after all your opponent agreed to play without increment.
However, it is a different game.
After all we are no longer in the 20th century with analog clocks.

I prefer no increment. Increments are like crutches for people who refuse to learn how to manage their time properly.

Yeah normal Bullet players lmao

You can't play chess at any time control. I could give you 30 minutes vs my 1 minute and win every game easily!

Yes I know this you're ...

Let me laugh. It's easy to say "weak" to a 400 point under player from you. And, don't flatter yourself. You make the same things in bullet too. The trick is to make some good moves and then flag or mate. Everyone does this in bullet. If you're saying this to me, you're saying all the bullet players are noob including you.
And I know everyone can play OTB. It's not a bad performance that becoming 5th in 112 people. What do you want? You can't be first everytime. I don't go to any FIDE tournaments because I'm a student than I can't have the advantage. And, an OTB is not a "not serious" event. You can see very good players in OTB's.
I know you're stronger than me, that doesn't makes me cry. And don't flatter yourself like you're Magnus.
And what are you calling with "walk"? Everyone walks the road of glory.
And my rating is not less than 1600 in other controls (not including variants). All you do is talking the lie and make yourself the right one.
And, let me say, you just closed your account after all this lies tho.

You reworded that sentence to "He got his a55 kicked" instead of saying "He got his punishment here" didn't you... Or
@Himawari_Nohara said that first but then thought it was bad/inappropriate so they changed it...?

I started playing about 4 1/2 years ago and hung between 1200 and 1350 for a couple years. I did win or place in a few arena tournaments, but that was more luck of the draw than it was improvement. I lost a lot of games by getting flagged with winning positions. So, I started playing 10+5 increment and pretty much have been climbing ever since. I bounce around 1550 now.
What I don't know is, am ...

One thing for sure, you will be playing better chess with an increment and in the long term you'll be a better chess player.

Also note that whatever the format you should plan to use all the time available to maximise your win rate as little is gained from winning fast - excluding Arena touraments!
