Just had a look at my (intermediate player) win rate stats...
For my chess federation games the format can be 10min|2inc or 10|5, for White win rates are 27% to 43% respectively, for Black the win rate doubles, 16% to 35% - across 180+ games.
For my games on Chessiverse with a fixed format of 15|10 my win rates are 74% and 69% for White and Black respectively - across 77 games.
From quality-of-play metrics there is little difference on either on-line platform!
There is a ~200 points difference in Elo rating between Chessiverse and LiChess play and I suspect this will rise to around 300+ with more games. The Chessiverse BOTs are benchmarked against the LiChess Elo rating population for mostly Blitz play - there are four available to play on LiChess if you want to give them a try - and the BOTs don't play to flag or cheat.
The Chessiverse elo 15|10 rating is currently 100+ above my OTB classical Elo rating and given LiChess' rating inflation relative to FIDE ratings about right, giving I expect it to rise to about 200+. My oddly low on-line platform Elo ratings, approximately 100+ below OTB for LiChess and 300+ below for federation on-line rapid ratings, can be explained by a jump in time forfeits (compared to zero for OTB) as there is little difference in objectively measured quality-of-play metrics between the two on-line platforms - OTB is about 150+ elo higher in terms of quality-of-play.
All of which indicates 'increment' could be extremely sensitive setting for some players without any 'difference in populations' argument.
Aside: Giving only about 150+ difference between the far longer classical and short rapid formats then for PRACTICAL purposes some players would be wise to play rapid games on-line to the level that time formats are rare IF improvement is the aim. For me the Chessiverse 15|10 format currently has roughly half the forfeits as LiChess formats, I will be going to the 20|10 format on Chessiverse once I plateau out if I can't reduce the 15|10 format to minimal.
