It’s still just one more step or one more password to give away. If somebody willingly shares this information no amount of layers will ever be enough. And I don’t see how a hypothetical, psychological barrier suddenly pops up when grabbing your phone. Your not giving your phone away. You literally just do the thing you already did, twice.

That’s why I said, that’s not what it’s for (but for compromised devices).
Im Not sure what there is to misunderstand.

If you wanna use fake arguments and spin tales further and further about sibling rivalries and other completely unrelated topics, you’ll need to do this without me.

I just didn’t like how you addressed #1. You insinuated he is stupid, because there have been stupid people before him. And without further road blocks he can’t even take the responsibility of something as trivial as a chat group. That’s insulting and illogical. Not all kids/humans are the same. People deserve the benefit of the doubt and an unbiased approach and “I’ve heard stories” doesn’t cut it in my book.

If you're so annoyed and you keep refusing 2fa, you shouldn't be a team or class leader

I've heard several stories of minors carelessly giving away their passwords here ...

That’s illogical.

Why would he give away his password just because you heard stories?

With the same logic and degree of human failure 2fa is not do...

Are you a team(s) leader?

yes

Then that's why. Same thing happened to me when I freshly created a team. I ignored it.

the kids who did and then later complained about their team being hacked, would probably say so as well ...

Point is: Lichess doesn't care about your affirmations. It cares about the fact that you're a team leader and that compromising your account may cause damage to other people too, as they get kicked from the team or approached with fishy messages in your name ... by the way, it doesn't even require you giving away your password. A weak password may suffice as well.

@Rookitiki the point of two-factor authentification is that it is indeed two factors - two different levels of security, very different in nature.

A second password on top of the first password would be indeed useless, as if a hacker gets one password, he also gets the other. (it would essentially just be a long merged password)
