losing someone I love, literally like death and figuratively even losing a friend or growing distant for that matter
Mine is similar: Losing all my friends. Skipping grades comes with a hefty price to pay, in terms of social awkwardness. I often feel distant from people around me...even when I'm actively talking to them. Social Media just makes it worse. I feel like I have to hide who I really want to be, and that makes me insecure.
I do have some friends, and I talk with them as much as I can, but I feel like I have some sort of friend cap that I hit at random, and then I just lose friends.
@SolangeloForever, as a person who struggles profusely with trying to be social and maintaining relationships, I feel you wholeheartedly.

Maybe nothing scares you much because you're a calm, brave, rational individual, @O_olo_O .
I am none of the above.

I am none of the above.
Rational people can sometimes underrate themselves. Indeed, people of intelligence tend toward misplaced modesty.
Here's a nice quote from an online source of apparent repute: "Psychology suggests that the most skilled people are often the most likely to question their abilities...."
This is the flipside of the rather well-known Dunning-Kruger Effect.
Those who are cocksure of their own infallibility are not always right. And those who question their own abilities are often very able indeed.
