Lost quite a few games this way.
Yes, that's the problem with the connection... When you lose your connection you will probably lose the game as well... But I think they'll fix it.

Dude, I swear this is just so weird, and i have no idea what is going on when it says "reconnecting!". Luckily I don't disconnect during games, but this is a serious issue and it must be fixed by Lichess. Some people are losing their games because of this. What the heck!

For those who didn't understand
Without the proxy being tested
Your internet must reach France
The problem in getting there is a long way to the destination
As in real life paths can have problems, such as traffic or problematic paths
The current objective is to test whether using a path guided by a third party will be better than going without a guide

Anyone experience this and yet swear their internet is fine?
This link configures your site settings to use to a cloudflare IP address for our live chess connection (i.e. websockets): lichess.org/#debug?set=d3NIb3N0PWNmLXNvY2tldC5saWNoZXNzLm9yZw==
This link reverses it, returning your lichess to normal: lichess.org/#debug?unset
Clicking one of those should "Changes applied" in green atop a debug dialog if it worked. You'll need to reload or click a new page before the new setting takes effect. This change is local to your device. It is not stored in your account. You can also clear site settings to get rid of it if you forget about or can't access the unset link above.
Most of the time, the lag will be slightly worse through the regional cloudflare IP. If you decide to try it, please post here whether you saw any improvement.
Can confirm, it's more reliable. In fact, I haven't seen the "reconnecting" notif. It used to appear all the time before.
Thanks a lot!

I live literally 30 minutes away from France. It does seem to have fixed my issues, but maybe it's confirmation bias? I'll keep testing this.
Thanks for your work!

If nobody can say this has helped after using for a few days, we can shut it down.

Ok, I went ahead and clicked the first link.
- a diagnostic page came up and I clicked "send to lichess"
- I got an error message saying something like "message too large"
- I highlighted the message intending to copy it and my browser died.
- When I reopened the browser (Opera) my old open tabs were not restored.
- My ping is now slightly lower, 148 vs my usual 162 or so.
- I had been getting reconnection messages lately, though they weren't interrupting my games.
I will follow up if anything interesting happens going forward.
... edit for follow up
I have not seen the reconnect message since. I think I was mainly seeing it before only when switching tabs. Game play seems the same.
