Why are people in lichess so quiet?

I play often in zen-mode.
It gives me more concentration.
Only playing to have fun makes me switch the zen mode off.
Normaly the reson to play is to do my best game.
But sometimes I play chess for pleasure and entertainment, then I test all ideas.

Why don’t people on lichess talk more?

Bro, this is Lichess not Chess.com. Don't compare Lichess and Chess.com
It's just stupid, people don't talk cuz they don't feel like talking or they just don't know how to chat or voice chat!
Easy, if you want to talk just come here and make a forum. Like you did now.

you ask a question to your opponent he just there in silence like nothing happend

It's not like at the club. It's one thing to talk sitting in front of a person, it's another thing to write ( or talk in front of a screen ), which for many can be much more distracting. And then not everyone likes to talk while playing, not even at the club during a friendly match.
We are not all the same, we need to understand that and understand each other. If your opponent likes to talk too, okay, if he doesn't want to, I don't see what to wonder about.
And then it doesn't seem true to me that on the other site there is more talk. A least in rapid games, I often find opponents chatting here too, while playing.

( The only thing I'd appreciate is to have a response to my initial courtesy greeting which I always do, and which almost always does not come ).

You ask this question very often, don't you?

@worldconqueror2013 "Why are people in lichess so quiet?".

My guess is that it is mostly a combination of two factors.

  1. The lichess interface design sometimes does not promote conversation. Sure there is a 'group chat" in tournaments but no one-on-one chat pops up when you are paired with someone like it does if you get a random game from the lobby. (The group chat is often completely disjointed.) This then contributes to a culture of non-communication in games.
  2. A lot of people take their chess very seriously and would rather spend all their time on the chess, not conversation. In a 5 minute blitz game even answering one message could be the difference between being flagged or not.

Lichess is excellent for chess but if it was being judged purely on 'social' it would get maybe 5/10.

I am playing chess then. So WHY and HOW should I talk?? Except maybe saying "hi" and "good luck" at the beginning. Or maybe except a classic or correspondence game, where there is time enough to answer questions.

It's impossible to play and chat when in the mobile app and short time control. Even in longer time control, it's distracting. Sometimes I get the impression that some people talk when in troubles in the game, trying to disturb your thinking.
