"The rationale for the Hamas attack was to take hostages"
Oh, for goodness sakes. Do you know some of the hideous things that ACTUALLY happened? More than a thousand were not "taken hostage." They were murdered, and some were tortured, hideously.
It can't be gaslit.

Negotiations between Hamas and Israel about prisoners were going nowhere.
That is why the October 7 attack was launched.
Yes, 1195 died.
In the following Gaza Genocide 73,400 died, that is 61 to 1.
If a person commits a murder, then he or she is imprisoned for life, can be paroled after 30, 20, or 10 years, or gets 1 or 2 hopefully lethal injections.
The Israel way is to kill the murderer, his wife, children, parents, neighbors, the whole street, 61 in total.

"what is your opinion on the hamas ?"
- Hamas is an organization fighting for Palestinian rights against Israeli oppression, but also built schools and hospitals for the people.
Hamas was funded by Israel to weaken the influence of Al Fatah.

"do you support them"
- Not really. I understand them, but I am against violence.
We should see Hamas like the IRA in Northern Ireland, or Irgun in Israel.

"they do alot of war crimes"
- So does Israel, even more.
The International Criminal Court has indicted both Netanyahu and the Hamas leaders for war crimes, but the indicted Hamas leaders are dead now. I hope Netanyahu one day stands trial.

I sure hope that those who are against violence don't look at a failure of negotiations as a rightful excuse for murdering and torturing innocents.
Because such behavior starts wars. The country of the victims tends to say "never again" and react so as to try to make sure of that. Nearly 100 years ago, America went to war with Japan, and Britain and Canada went to war with Germany, with rather less provocation. And they did not stop till the initial aggressor had surrendered.
Now those long-ago aggressors have become wonderful, peaceful nations.
Wars are terrible. Nobody should ever celebrate the deaths of innocents. I hope we all agree on that.

"a failure of negotiations as a rightful excuse for murdering and torturing innocents"
- It is a spiral of violence. Israel exerts state violence to Palestinians, oppressing them in occupied territories in violation of international law. Then Palestinian boys throw stones toward Israeli soldiers. The Israeli arrest the boys, put them in prison, torture and rape them there. Then Hamas attacks to capture hostages so as to trade them for imprisoned Palestinians. Then the Israeli Defense Forces enter Gaza, flatten the buildings, kill women and children, starve the people.
"Wars are terrible. Nobody should ever celebrate the deaths of innocents."
- Agree on that, but 61 innocent deaths are more terrible than one.
