Oh, no, my last post got an instant downvote! But I'll note that downvote did NOT apparently come from a panda. Pandas tend to move with deliberation rather than speed.

Hey why y'all fighting? ;p

I have nothing but respect for @Cedur216 . He or she has found his or her way into this most excellent of online forums, and that deserves some respect, I declare!

I remember, years ago, when I was quite content on another, different chess server. And it was fine indeed. But then I heard from another (whom I respect beyond measure) that Lichess was splendid!

And that was good advice, indeed. So I switched, and I've never looked back. Thank you mods, for helping to make this possible.

I will always err on the side of rebuttably assuming that the mods act with mature and seasoned deliberation, even if they are criticized by others for not acting to suit the other's own viewpoint or tolerances.

Expecting mods to be smart and fair on the Internet has very often proved naive and erroneous indeed, for some reason ...

I have nothing but respect for the mods HERE. They work selflessly for the benefit of all, and face criticism from some, nevertheless. I consider my respect to be neither "naive" nor "erroneous." But I can't speak for everyone, clearly. Indeed, I don't think I should even attempt it.

I think the "A for Effort" defense is a bit Panglossian when you consider that the mods are fairly transparent about their disregard for the off-topic section.

I think the "A for Effort" defense *is* a bit Panglossian when you consider that the mods are fairly transparent about their disregard for the off-topic section.

There it is! The "P" word! It makes me feel like ... a fortune teller! (See above).

I've yet to see a mod confessing to not doing his or her job.

But, admittedly, I've only been here for six years, and I seldom frequent the Dark Web.

Although Halloween IS coming right up, and I consider it a splendid holiday, indeed.

And, in that spirit, we DO have to explain the, ahem, "personalities" who sometimes disappear from the forum. Are they all voluntarily jumping ship?

(For the record, I like anonmod's honesty, but it's a bit bleak when you hear that from the mod staff)
