Regarding the tiebreak, I think the simplest solution would be to use the score difference. This eliminates problems with different number of games.

I totally agree with @JannLee .

On first place i think we should probably have the full set of games played, so stop at 10.

In case of the match being a tie, i don't mind either valuating the result with half a point or playing further until someone wins by a margin of two points and then counting the match result a equivalence to 6-4 as you said.

Up to the other guys to decide!

As a spectator I would like to point that the existing time limit (3+0) drags the quality of the games down. I have already watched some games been decided in time scramble, with both players throwing frantically and randomly their pieces on the board. This is a bit ugly, an not worthy of a world championship. I think that even an one second increment would increase significantly the quality of the games.

Hey guys

Sorry if this championship seems a bit slow ATM, but I'm just posting here to let you know I'm a bit busy these few days. I'll update everything by Saturday hopefully. Much love!

@Skeftomilos I was wholly opposed to it, but it got the most votes, so there was nothing I could do! I don't think it's a very wise idea to change the time control mid-event...Dunno, up for discussion.

I'm happy to try commentating any match that can be arranged to start between 5PM and 5AM GMT. I'll need advance notice but I'm happy to try rearranging my schedule where possible.

Looking forward to enjoying the rest of this event as a spectator, kudos to the candidates!

@FischyVishy Here are some games that were decided in time scramble so far:

TwelveTeen - IM penguingim1 (Time out, 00:02.4 - 00:00.0) https://en.lichess.org/pabTzCo2
IM penguingim1 - TwelveTeen (Time out, 00:03.4 - 00:00.0) https://en.lichess.org/qM6qfmG4
B0N0B0 - mastertan (Time out, 00:05.4 - 00:00.0) https://en.lichess.org/2IKFiyAW
LM JannLee - crosky (Time out, 00:00.0 - 00:04.6) https://en.lichess.org/3741DP3U

Of course the majority of the games ended with checkmate. I guess it will be less important now that the candidates will play the round robin tournament, with many matches and games, so the factor of chance (or who has the faster mouse) will be consequently reduced.

I like the idea of having match points (with game points as a tiebreak) and, since it's no longer the knockout stage, counting a 5-5 result as 1/2 point for each player.

As for the time control, I'm not opposed to changing this to 3 + 1 or 3 + 2 - don't know about other players' preference.

Yeah I'm up to any time control wich is not slower than 3 0, so 3 1 or 3 2 is okay by me as well! I'm also okay with 3 0 so up to the other players to decide!

I think having # of match wins + @ubdip 's suggestion for tiebreaks would be great.

@Atrophied Thanks a bunch! I took your request into account :).

@Skeftomilos Yeah, but still, I don't really like changing the TC mid-tournament. As you said, the flagging games will balance each other out.
